Who We Are
Mother Caroline Academy, founded in 1993, is a small private, tuition free school serving girls from families with limited financial resources in grades four through eight. The mission of the school is to provide a quality education that develops the individual gifts each student and prepares her to succeed in a competitive secondary school. MCA emphasizes the importance of scholarship, leadership, spiritual, social and moral development.
The Academy offers a well-balanced education program, which includes English, math, science, and social studies. Our aim is to provide our learners with a student-centered environment where they can feel at ease as they read and write, do math problems, collect information, think about it and share it with peers, explain decisions and show what they know. At MCA students are encouraged to take vital roles in their community and follow through on responsibilities. As students gain knowledge and understanding, they develop self-confidence, self-pride, and intuitions that are especially needed as they approach adolescence. Our students understand that learning is a process in order to be academically equipped for high school and beyond.
While Mother Caroline Academy is a tuition-free school, families pay an annual activity fee of $750 to help defray a portion of the expenses for books, supplies, extracurricular and after-school activities. In recognition of the varied needs of its students, Mother Caroline Academy offers small class sizes, a professional and experienced staff and faculty which includes a team of AmeriCorpsteaching fellows, a curriculum centered on problem and project-based teaching and learning, integration of technology, a breakfast, lunch and snack food program, after school activities, evening study, and opportunities for students to participate in summer camps and enrichment programs.
