At MCA, Black History Month isn't just limited to

At MCA, Black History Month isn't just limited to the month of February - it is a commitment woven into our school community every single day. From the inspiring stories we hear in the classroom, to the incredible accomplishments of those individuals living in our backyard here in Boston, we honor the contributions of Black leaders past and present, celebrating their courage, innovation, and strength.

All month long, MCA students will be researching Black trailblazers throughout history in order to share their stories with the community at our morning chapel. Stay tuned as we shine the spotlight on Black athletes, artists, entertainers, and more, throughout the month of February!

We are immensely grateful for this impactful donation of books, games, school supplies, hygiene kits, and so much more from @storytimecraftsinc 📚🎉🥹 classroom teachers are thrilled to restock their own classroom libraries, and the 7th grade students who helped unload the supplies were SO excited to dig into the selection of books we received. This donation is extremely supportive in helping MCA restock our library, provide enriching new games for our community, and offer essential hygiene items to students across all grades. We can’t thank you enough @storytimecraftsinc and are so excited to see all these amazing items in action over the coming months! ☺️

For Martin Luther King Jr. Day, several MCA eighth graders spent their day off from school serving their community at the St. Katharine Drexel church next door to MCA for their 38th Annual MLK Breakfast. Happy holidays from all of us here at Mother Caroline Academy. We hope you have a relaxing holiday season with your loved ones, and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year! 🎉

Before the break, laughter and holiday tunes fille

Before the break, laughter and holiday tunes filled the air as students got creative with ornament decorating and winter crafts ☃️ Students and staff alike embraced the holiday spirit with a week-long celebration of themed dress-up days for spirit week ❄️🎉 Whether dressed in festive sweaters, holiday pajamas, or as their favorite winter characters, the shared excitement was palpable throughout the school.

The holiday can drive organized by our student council was a great success, with 583 cans and other essential food items collected between the upper and lower school, as they competed against each other to collect the most items🥫 It was a close race with the upper school ultimately taking the lead with 312 items collected, while the lower school was close behind with 271 collected 👏

Before departing for the winter break, the MCA halls buzzed with festive energy as students eagerly participated in a variety of special holiday activities ☃️The highlight of the season was the door decorating contest, where classrooms transformed into winter wonderlands adorned with twinkling lights, snowflakes, and creative holiday themes ❄️🎉 Swipe to see each grade's finished doors! 🚪

Mother Caroline is officially closed for our winter break ❄️🎁 we are wishing our entire community a rejuvenating and festive holiday season ☃️

MCA students brought warmth to the stage with thei

MCA students brought warmth to the stage with their amazing performances in our annual Winter Showcase yesterday afternoon 🌟❄️ from singing and dancing, to playing the ukulele and performing plays, this year’s showcase truly had it all 🎶🎤

Our talented lower school students in grades 3-5 sang a variety of songs together, showing off their hard work and creating beautiful harmonies as a group. Grades 6 and 7 showed off their dedication to learning the ukuleles as they performed “Joy to the World”, practicing singing and playing their new instruments.

Grades 7 and 8 additionally performed their own plays, created over the course of the last few months with drama teacher, Jacqui Parker. Grade 7 performed An Ode to Langston Hughes’ Black Nativity, while grade 8 came up with their own mash up of two classics: Home Alone and How the Grinch Stole Christmas! ☃️🎅🏾

Each week our eighth graders buddy up with the third grade class for “reading buddies” to ignite a passion for reading in our lower school students 📚📖 we’re so proud of our eighth grade class for taking on this kind of mentoring and leadership at the school, while supporting the academic progress of our youngest learners! ☺️♥️
